We want you to be delighted with your jewellery. However, if you are not entirely satisfied, we are here to help. Our returns policy is designed to be simple and complies with UK consumer laws.

1. Online Orders (Distance Selling)

If you purchased your item online via our website, you have the right to cancel your order and request a refund or exchange.

  • Notification Period: You must notify us of your wish to return the item(s) within 14 days of receiving your delivery.
  • Return Period: Once notified, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back to us.
  • Refunds: Refunds will be processed back to your original payment method. If you return the full order, we will refund the cost of the item(s) and the standard outbound delivery charge.
  • Return Shipping Costs: You are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us unless the item is faulty.

2. In-Store Purchases

If you purchased an item from our Exeter shop, please return the item to the shop with your receipt within 14 days of purchase. We are happy to offer a refund, exchange, or gift voucher, provided the item is in its original condition.

3. Non-Returnable Items

Exceptions: For hygiene and customisation reasons, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on:

  • Earrings (unless faulty)
  • Bespoke or Personalised Jewellery

4. Condition of Returns

All items must be returned in a fully saleable condition, unworn, and in their original packaging. We reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange if the goods are returned damaged, worn, or without original packaging.

5. Exchanges

We can provide an exchange for an alternative item or a gift voucher. Please note that re-delivery charges apply for exchanging non-faulty items:

  • UK Addresses: £5.00 re-delivery charge
  • International Addresses: £12.00 re-delivery charge

6. How to Return Your Item

Please ensure your item is safely packaged to prevent damage in transit. We recommend using a signed-for delivery service (such as Royal Mail Special Delivery) and keeping your proof of postage. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged whilst being returned to us.

Please include a note stating:

  • Your Order Number
  • Your Name
  • Reason for Return (Refund or Exchange)

7. International Returns

If you are returning a package from outside the UK, you must clearly label the outside of the package with the following phrase to avoid customs fees:

"RETURNED GOODS FOR REFUND / REPAIR"

If this is not clearly marked, the package may be held in customs or incur import duties. Monty's Devon Ltd will not pay customs charges for returned goods; these will be deducted from your refund or may result in the package being refused.
